Do you follow your gut?
Everybody’s talking about gut health these days.
I am too.
But not in the way you might expect, so keep reading.
We all know that a healthy gut is an important part of our overall health and can even help reverse autoimmune and chronic illnesses.
But usually when we hear about healing our gut it’s all about food.
You know, removing unhealthy processed foods from our diet and adding in nutrient dense, real foods to give our bodies what they need to heal and function at their highest level.
I agree with all of that and highly recommend you follow those recommendations.
But what if you’re already doing that and you still have gut problems?
I hear this from clients all the time.
That’s when we take a look at what’s going on in their lives.
Because our physical health is inseparably connected to our mental and emotional health.
Often times I find that my clients are following all the recommendations for healthy eating, but they are ignoring their “gut”.
And by gut I mean intuition.
You know, that still small voice inside of you.
We have many names for it, but it’s our inner wisdom telling us what’s best for us.
Often times your “gut” will tell you something that is in opposition to what others tell you, or what society tells you, or what your culture tells you.
So who do you listen to? Who do you follow?
Personally, I believe it’s impossible to truly heal your gut without listening to and honoring it.
So if you were waiting for permission to follow your gut, I’m giving it to you!
What is your gut telling you?
Who is it telling you to be?
If you could set aside all the expectations and pressures of the world and show up in the way that YOU want to show up, what would that look like?
Sometimes it’s scary to follow your gut, especially if it goes against what others think you should do.
But you are brave, and you are strong, and you can do it!
Consider it “doctor’s orders”, because listening to and honoring your gut is one of the best things you can do for your health.
Sending lots of love, courage, strength and healing to you!!
